The Gertrude Anthony house at 1012 Cragmont Avenue in Berkeley was designed by noted architect John Hudson Thomas in 1940. It is a masterful example of Hudson’s use of scenographic technique, a practice of “setting the stage”, which was a perpetual theme in each of Thomas’s houses.
